Student Organizations

STUDENT COUNCIL – Two students are elected from Level 2 and, 3 and four students from Level 4 to serve as representatives to the student council. The entire student council votes for the president of the student council from among the 8th-grade representatives. The student council meets at least once a month with the teacher-advisor to discuss service projects and ways to improve the school.

SAFETY PATROL – Students in Level 4 may volunteer to serve as members of the Safety Patrol. These students help to walk preschoolers into Jackson Hall between 8:00 AM and 8:10 AM and at dismissal. They also put the cones away. The Level 4 teacher is the sponsor of the Safety Patrol.

SOCCER - Available after school on Thursdays for students of grades 4-8. Coached by Mr. Hernandez.

ART – Art is a regular part of the curriculum. Outstanding artwork is collected and presented in exhibits.

Ballet - Offered to girls of any grade. Our ballet instructor is a SJES graduate with years of experience in advanced dance and ballet.

ANNUAL CLASS TRIPS – Field trips that reinforce the curriculum are encouraged.  Level 4 takes an alternating schedule of trips of Sea Camp and Space Camp to enrich their course work and to Washington D.C. as part of their American History studies. Other trips for students of various levels include visits to Actor’s Playhouse, Broward Civic Center, the Historical Museum, Planetarium, and the Science Museum at Viscaya in Miami.

ACOLYTE & READER – These students will help in the services with Priest in Charge during the school year. They will also take turns reading the word.

COMPUTER & CODING CLASS - Thanks to Ocean Reef Community Foundation, we have upgraded our computer lab & now offer coding classes! These classes will be done during the regular school day so all students can take advantage of this new program!
