Admissions Policy

Students are accepted to St. John’s Episcopal School on the following criteria:

  • Students currently enrolled;
  • Children or parishioners of St. John’s Episcopal School
  • Siblings of those currently enrolled
  • Others who meet entrance requirements, on a first-come, first-served basis

The administration reserves the right to review the records of a student who wishes to be admitted to St. John’s. The academic, psychological, and social adjustment of the applicant will be considered. A student may be asked to take a standardized placement test. The cost of this placement test is $35.

 

The administration will interview the child and the parents of the prospective students. St. John’s reserves the right to deny admittance to those students who do not reflect the academic and moral standards of St. John’s Episcopal School.

 

All new students who seek admission to St. John’s school will be accepted on a probationary basis for one grading period. Final acceptance will be determined by the classroom teacher and the administration.

 

Preschool students should be three to four years old by September 1st of the current school year. Students entering kindergarten should be five years old by September 1st of the current school year. Exceptions to this guideline may be made by the Principal based on the need of the individual student.

 

St. John’s Episcopal School is open to all children regardless of gender, race, color, creed, church affiliation, or national origin.

 

Any parent wishing to set up an appointment for an initial interview and testing can call the school office between 8 am - 3 pm.

 

 
 

SY 23-24 Enrollment

Opens Monday, April 17, 2022

 

Current Students with perpetual registration forms:

  • These students will be automatically registered for the 23-24 school year. A registration fee of $100 needs to be paid by April 15th to retain their seat and avoid any late fees. 
  • Students receiving scholarships should renew their scholarships in a timely manner to avoid losing funding. SUFS is expected to open in late April. Please call Mrs. Alycia with any questions regarding Scholarships.
  • Parents should call the office to make sure their accounts are current & in good standing. Students with delinquent accounts after June 1st could potentially lose their seats.

*If you're unsure if you have a perpetual registration form on file, call the office to confirm.

 

Prospective Students:

  • New students entering grades K - 6th grade are required to take an entrance exam & meet with our Head of School, Ms. Nair. The cost for this exam is $35 and can be scheduled by calling the office.
  • Payment for registration is $125, accepted in cash, checks or credit card. This fee is charged per family, not per child.
  • All new students are encouraged to apply for scholarships through Step Up for Students. Once registration is paid, contact Mrs. Alycia for help applying.
  • All required documents must be turned in to the office before the start of school.
    • Required Documents for New Students:
      • Student's Birth Certificate
      • Student's Social Security Card
      • Health forms with physician signature (Physical & Immunizations)
      • School registration form
    • If Applicable
      • VPK Certificate (For SY 23-24)
      • Step Up for Students award letter (For SY 23-24)
      • IEP for any children who are planning on using McKay or FES-UA funding
